Arsenic in Canada's Chicken

I wrote about arsenic in the chicken feed used by Canada's #ChickenMafia here, here, here, here, and here.

Arsenic is a well known acute poison, metabolic disruptor, and carcinogen.  That's a few of the reasons Health Canada banned the practice of adding arsenic to chicken feed as of August 2012.

Purposefully adding arsenic to our food so the #ChickenMafia can make more profit is difficult to understand and justify.

On April 5, 2013 I sent emails to Chicken Farmers of Canada ("CFC") and Chicken Farmers of Ontario ("CFO") asking about their positions on the arsenic issue, and its August 2012 ban by Health Canada's VDD (Veterinarian Drug Directorate).

CFO couldn't be bothered responding.  At that time, at least CFC responded, but gave the standard Sargent Shultz answer, "I know nothing..."



As this is important for all Canadians, I thought I'd follow up on this arsenic issue.

I have now sent another email to VDD, CFC and CFO requesting what they have been doing for the last 15 months on this arsenic issue, and ensuring compliance by all those effecting Canadian chicken.

I have also copied their governmental supervisory boards so we are assured everybody knows the questions posed, and the answers expected.

Now we wait to see what happens.
