The Untouchables

The Don of the Canadian #ChickenMafia (ie. Chicken Farmers of Canada) has now been ruled to be "untouchable". They answer not to the Canadian public.

The only supervision and restraint that limits CFC's actions is the Farm Product Council of Canada ("FPCC"), which administers the Farm Products Agencies Act.

You can read it and weep yourselves here:  FPCC letter & decision of 2013/12/17

The questions Small Flockers asked were for objective evidence that CFC was compliant with the Act and the Federal-Provincial Agreement on Chicken 2001.

Since there is no transparency and no accountability, CFC is able to continue doing as it pleases.

What are the chances of success in asking the FPCC to show that they have adequately supervised and monitored CFC's actions, like they are responsible for doing?

Is there any hope in a Judicial Review of FPCC's decision?

Just how big of a detour must be made around this bureaucratic cesspool for the #ChickenMafia, their henchmen, and Supply Management in Canada?

I have sent the following email to FPCC today:

I acknowledge receipt of the FPCC's decision of Dec. 17, 2013 that the Chicken Farmers of Canada ("CFC") have no duty to answer questions or inquiries posed by the public.
I therefore request copies of all documents from Jan. 1, 2012 to today that clearly demonstrate (using unbiased, third party, independent, and objective data that is in FPCC's care or control) that shows that CFC is fully compliant with:
  1. the Farm Product Agencies Act,
  2. the Federal-Provincial Agreement Chicken 2001, and
  3. all mandatory directives of FPCC.
  4. CFC is operating in an efficient, effective, manner
  5. CFC is achieving the intended results on a consistent basis
FPCC is supposed to monitor CFC and report to government.  I wonder what data they have collected, and what they have reported, if anything.
